Outstanding ship, very large. Extremely cold weather all across the US made for some rough seas both leaving port, and coming back into port, but we hardly noticed because of the size of this ship! We loved the neighborhoods! Central Park was probably our favorite—with it’s gorgeous plants and cozy nooks. But I also saw splash pads and slides and a carousel that my grandchildren would have loved if they had been with us. Dining staff in both the windjammer and the main dining room went above and beyond to help me with my food allergies. Taste of Royal was a great way to sample specialty dining—with each course provided by a different restaurant—and again they worked to accommodate my food allergies. The cruise director and entertainment team were amazingly talented and very friendly even offstage. The final night ice show (not a headliner show) was my favorite — it showcased real ice skating skill and performance, and that made it stand out. I especially enjoyed that it was pure entertainment without darker themes or underlying messages, which appeared in some of the other shows and just are NOT my preference!
