We were on the Island Princess for 7 nights, LA to Vancouver. Had a suite. Booked all, flight, hotel in LA, transportation from airport to hotel, hotel to ship and ship to airport in Vancouver. Excellent portion of trip was dining. We ate breakfast in Sabatini's and dinner in the "reserved dining" section of the Bordeaux dining room. Service was fantastic, personal, friendly bend over backwards service. Food mostly good, sometimes excellent. We only took two Princess tours. Both tours were excellent (San Diego Winery tour and Sausalito/Muir Woods tour). Both tour guides were very very good with a lot of local knowledge that they shared. First two nights the thermostat in our suite didn't work and it got colder and colder. Took until the third day to get maintenance there to make a small and quick fix. Found out we should have contacted our "Suite Experience Contact" rather than our steward who, along with his supervisor, had tried over and over again to get maintenance to our suite. Our biggest disappointment was disembarkation day. It really helps my husband to have wheelchair assistance on that day. We always work to make sure we understand what to expect and what is expected of us that day. I started trying to reach our "Suite Experience Contact" the morning before. She wasn't ever available when I contacted her and never called us back. Later that evening I called Guest Services number to ask them. Person didn't know answer to one of my questions and was to call us back. She never called. Morning of Disembarkation we kept getting opposite instructions from our written material and what we had been told by Guest Services. By the time we got to the port terminal I was a nervous wreck. Once turned over to the Port folks all was handled beautifully, well organized caring and wonderful people including at the airport for our departure. In total, all except for freezing in our suite until day 3, not being able to contact our "Suite Experience Contact" for help with disembarkation and the confusing contradicting instructions on disembarkation day, the cruise was fine and all other experiences really were very good.
