We have done four NCL Bliss cruises to Mexico from Los Angeles over the years. You would think we would get tired of the same ship/same itinerary. On the contrary, it’s always a consistently positive experience, not perfect but wonderful. This is just a well managed, high quality ship. Focusing on the current cruise, we ate only in the Garden Café . Food was wonderfully varied with many healthy alternatives. Every night a different carved meat featured: beef brisket, ham, turkey, meat loaf, etc but then also a full salad bar with everything for a plant based diet: greens, radishes, mushrooms, beans or tuna, cucumbers and on and on. Then for variety there is an Indian section with many kinds of curry dishes, rice and dal. As usual lots of desserts, but this time many sugar free, low sugar, gluten free items. I did not like the taste of them as much as the full sugar alternatives but that has nothing to do with their cooking. I like sugar and for those who do there are freshly made crepes and kudos to the young Filipino woman who made them, happily chatting you up while you waited. Ship cabin steward Bruno was fabulous at cleaning, tidying up and keeping us informed. Entertainment was my only minor complaint and only because I wanted more of it. The Icon show featured a very sophisticated light and graphics performance with great singing of famous performer’s songs. The Beatles Experience we have seen on all four of our Bliss voyages and if anything they keep getting better: great guitar work, good voices, great connection to crowd. The huge Bliss theatre was packed with us enthusiastic fans one night for them. Siglo played rock classics at the pool-awesome. Jersey Boys put on its last performance on this cruise but we had seen them before. Bliss needs to add back, after Jersey Boys ends, one more major musical group on the same level of quality as these four shows for great entertainment. One minor hiccup. On departure our bags did not make it to our room until almost sailing time. I had never had that happen on our seven cruises and I got worried they were lost then voila they showed up at our door. Bottle of chilled wine awaited us in our stateroom as Gold Latitude perk and small treats magically showed up throughout the cruise. Outstanding cruise.
1st time cruiser, had an amazing time. Can't wait to cruise again! We wanted to have a family trip with my 18 year old before he went away to start adulthood, so we booked 2 Club Balcony Suite rooms for myself, my spouse and our 4 children, 3 adults. It was very last minute (booked less than 30 days prior), when our son thought a cruise would be better than Hawaii. Being cruise newbies, we didn't know what to expect. We did a little research, found a cruise that fit our schedule, and booked two Club Balcony Suite rooms. Food Freestyle dining was perfect for us. We loved Savor the best. We also really enjoyed going to the Local late at night for food or early in the morning for breakfast. The buffet had good food, better than expected. We didn't do specialty dining as we wanted to see how we liked the included food. Shows We enjoyed both the Icons and Jersey Boys, but both are now leaving. There was also a magician for 2 shows. We didn't watch the Beatles cover band, except the one night they played at the Bliss Theater. The Atrium had a variety of shows and music and it was entertaining. Bars and the Observation Lounge also had music. Comedy was good, but get there 30 minutes early for a seat. Room Club Balcony Suite is a small step above the balcony. It came with a few snacks and other perks. Because we booked so late, we got the last two club balcony suite rooms, and they were cheaper than the aft balcony rooms, too, which were also available. Excursions were worth the price. Next time we go, we may skip some. Disabilities We had several in our party with some disabilities. We completed the disabilities form in advance. They made sure to provide the necessary assistance without issue. Overall, my family had a great time. The staff was excellant. We talked with our room stewards multiple times, usually daily. The staff at Taste and Savor were superb. We definitely will cruise again.
