We loved our quick Mexico cruise which was our second one with NCL in 2 yrs. -Great main dining room meals and the buffet was amazing. -Jersey Boys was performing and it was fantastic. The house band SIGLO was a classic rock cover band that performed almost every night and they were also amazing. -CABO: e-Bike excursion in Cabo was so much fun the only thing was the 45 min bus ride to the ranch. We rode bikes with the group thru the ranch area then rode to the beach which was deserted and very beautiful. The bikes had wide tires to make travel easy on rugged terrain. The Lunch on the ranch was also delicious. Our dock time in Cabo was short, 1pm so we would have liked to stay an hour or two longer. -MAZATLAN: we went to a beautiful hotel "DoubleTree Mazatlan" on our own and purchased a 'Resort Day Pass' from the front desk. It was 500 pesos but you got back a credit of 400 pesos to use in their restaurant. We enjoyed our lunch in their restaurant which had lots of delicious choices within the 400 peso limit. They had beautiful pools which we swam in with a great view of the ocean. We were pretty much the only ones there and had the pool to ourself. ALSO, there is a Day Spa on the property and we got a massage which was an additional cost of something like $60 USD. The massage was the best I've ever had! They even gave you a lite healthy snack at the end in a peaceful room with lemon infused cool water. Great price for a WONDERFUL massage. The taxi which is very easy to take from the port (there is a taxi stand) was $20USD one way. The hotel can help getting a cab back to the port. I HIGHLY recommend going to the DoubleTree Mazatlán for a day of blissful relaxation. Resort pass hours start at 10AM. We will try to be there when it opens at 10AM to spend more time there. -PUERTO VALLARTA: We did a walking tour of the Malecon (seaside boardwalk) and Gringo Gulch but I didn't care for it. It would have been better to take a taxi to the Malecon and another to the shopping area of the Gringo Gulch area. The tour didn't give us chance to do independent shopping and strolling. Only 20 minutes at the Gringo Gulch area to shop then they took us to a silver jewelry shop which I had no interest in seeing. The guide was very nice though and knowledgeable.
Very clean everywhere! They're cleaning and painting nonstop. Very good service and happy staffs. The kids club are good, my kid was happy. I'd skip puerto vallarta and mazatlan, only go to cabo next time. Cabo beach is clean, private, water is warm and calm. Better infrastructure. Here are the dishes I recommend at MDR/Savor/Taste: Lunch: Mushroom soup, scallop gratin, chicken flautas, St.louis BBQ pork, New england clam chowder, hush puppies, beef tostadas, warm brie salad. Cuban chicken with plantain. Caprese salad Peanut butter cheesecake (not so sweet) Banana pie (not so sweet) Dinner: cream of cauliflower soup, shrimp cake, cream of corn soup. Pesto cream potato gnocchi, bacon wrapped cajun shrimp, braised lamb shank, and lamb tikka, herb rotisserie chicken, hawaiian pork belly, sword fish carpaccio, chicken lettuce wrap, asian spare rib w/ summer roll, chocolate lava cake. The local Bar & Grill Fried fish w/ coleslaw Wings Nachos Fried plantain Carrot & walnut cake Raspberry cheesecake
Everything was wonderful except for the noise in our cabin (Club Balcony) at night from the music below us in "The Cavern" venue until 1 am most nights. Absolutely fabulous food in the Garden Cafe for breakfast lunch and dinner with many choices. The Texas BBQ dining experience was good. Tasty food- great ambiance with country band entertainment. Very attentive waitstaff. The main dining room was beautifully appointed with furnishings and lighting with carefully prepared delicious appetizers and entrees. My wife's Shrimp Fettuccine was absolutely the best. My 5 cheese penne pasta was also delicious. The More at Sea package is definitely worth it. The numerous bars onboard serve up some very well prepared cocktails and a nice selection of wine. I do not consume alcohol but got to say the virgin cocktails were creative an delicious especially in the Mojito bar. We really prefer NCL over the other cruise lines we have sailed (Princess and Carnival) definitely thumbs up. Next time I will practice due diligence in researching our cabin to find one away from noisy venues.
This was my second cruise with NCL and my first on the Bliss. It is a beautiful ship and one of the biggest I've been on. There was plenty to do if so inclined. The workers were exceptional in their efforts to help you have a good time. The food was very good with a lot of variety. I mostly ate in the buffet because I like to take my time eating. I stayed in one of the solo cabins. The main area was roomy enough but the shower and bathroom was very small. Jersey Boys and the Icons show were very good. The Beatles cover group was ok. I will be going on the Bliss again in May for my first Alaska cruise and then on the Sun to the eastern Caribbean and then the joy thru the Panama Canal. Really looking forward to my trips. I decide that cruising twice a year was a must
