Celebrity Edge marks a turning point in our approach to ship design. From the very first sketches to experiencing those designs in a virtual reality setting, every step was done in 3-D. From the incredible new Magic Carpet® to the private plunge pools in our new 2-story Edge Villas, we could design the most refined ship at sea. The unique outward facing design breaks from traditional ship design. We enjoyed the NZ cruise last year, but the ship missed the fjord (Sounds)area altogether, when the skies were sunny, and the water calm enough in Dunedin - but the Captain said it wasn't safe to go south due to weather conditions. This year, we did a NZ cruise again but we chose the cruise that did the fjords first, thinking they can't miss it going this way! We did get there, but early morning about 8.00am Milford was covered in fog, and so we effectively missed that again (we got there but captain didn't wish to wait for the fog to clear and sailed us away) and then the ship traveled on to the other two Sounds, Dusky and Doubtful, where there was some cloud and rain, but at least they were viewable. It may be best to avoid November and go a month or two later with perhaps a better chance of good weather? We took an Aqua Suite this time. It is the same as a Sky Suite except you get the privileges on the Aqua Spa area and Blu. Room amenities were unnoticeable, except for a Yoga mat. The cabin was very nice and our Butler Lakshmana (Rao), and our cabin steward Komang were both exemplary in their service and helpfulness. Room service breakfast was outstandingly good and served hot and fresh. Loved the Retreat, and also the Aqua Spa area. The Retreat made the trip feel special, and we made some lovely new friends who we hope to see sometime next year. A shout out to Joselito who made me a 1970's favourite ladies' drink, "Golden Dream". Lovely drink service from both him and Mbali. Thank you guys! A full year on Celebrity is still running the very same two production shows but with different performers. We watched one again, but didn't bother with the other - Colours I think it was called. We have another cruise with this ship planned for 2027 (to elsewhere) and I do hope they change these shows by then! They had three tenors do a good show, which we enjoyed, but other shows didn't appeal to us and we didn't go to them. We largely dined at Lumenai, Blu or the Buffet. This year in the two restaurants there is a vegetarian menu that I didn't see last year. Sadly, I felt the vegetarian food was poor, and I feel the chefs need to put a lot more love and thought into menu planning and food preparation given how expensive this cruise line is, even more so in Suite and Aqua class. One of the worst examples, in Blu, while my husband had lobster, I ordered vegetable korma, which turned out to be rice with potatoes (no other veg) in a stodgy sauce. This was so bad I sent it back. Vietnamese Spring Rolls were raw carrot and cucumber wrapped in rice paper and served with a small dish of sweet chilli sauce that you can buy in the supermarket. The buffet was somewhat better for me, but on a down day for vegetarians in terms of variety, three bean mix was everywhere. Points to the veg. 'meatballs' in tomato sauce that appeared another day. The Indian food in the buffet didn't have the variety of vegetarian offerings it had last year; a change of chef, but a nice Dhal was offered every day. The nicest food I had on the cruise was a vegetarian burger at the Mast Grill outside the Solarium/right of the pool bar down steps. The chef will cook a plant burger on a reserved grill and you add your own toppings on a very fresh bun. This was delicious, fresh and hot.. I made a comment last year about transport to and from the airport. Since then I believe there has been a crack down on taxi drivers at Sydney airport taking tourists 'for a ride' with overcharging. This time our trip from the ship to the airport in a taxi on Sunday morning cost $46 going via Southern Cross Drive/South Dowling street tunnel with very light traffic. The way from the airport to our hotel in Darling Harbour via the 'new tunnel' that heads out to Drummoyne (the long way) cost about $75. However, I didn't know this. There is now a government trial that is supposed to have started on November 3, 2025, limiting the fare to the city from the airport at $60. I will check this with the driver before getting in next time. If one refuses, I'd go down the line to another cab.
We boarded the Celebrity Edge at Circular Quay Sydney on 18 November 2025. We had a smooth embarkation procedure using our Celebrity App boarding pass. This was a trouble free procedure and we were on the ship in no time. We chose a Sky Suite for our accommodation which is in the Retreat section of the ship. Included in our fare was wi-fi and drinks package. The highlight of our cruise was the superb dining experience in Luminae. The staff who assisted us in our fine dining experience were Novi - our main waiter, Elly - our Sommelier, Nancy - Hostess, Vikash - head waiter, Cosmin - Maitre D, Isaiah - waiter, along with all other Luminae staff members who gave us 10 out of 10 service and attention. The food we enjoyed whilst dining in Luminae was really outstanding and compliments should go to the chef also. Our Sky Suite on Deck 10 was superbly looked after by our Stateroom Attendant, Wayan, and special needs were attended to by our Butler, Edwin. We found the Hotel Director, Bilyana Velikova, very approachable and friendly and she does a superb job in directing hotel management. We enjoyed the shows in the theatre, which were available at 7.00pm and 9.00 pm each evening. The production shows were very entertaining along with the special guest artists. On our cruise we visited the Sounds of New Zealand, Dunedin, Christchurch, Tauranga, Auckland and the Bay of Islands (which is a tendered destination). The Celebrity Edge tender boats are very comfortable for tender rides, with very good seating. We found AJ in the Guest Relations Department to be very friendly and helpful with our wi-fi enquiries, nothing was a trouble to him. The ship itself is kept spotlessly clean in all areas. After enjoying our cruise to New Zealand on the Celebrity Edge, our disembarkation in Sydney was trouble free and luggage picked up from the luggage area was easy to find with clear identification tags. All in all, a very enjoyable cruise.
First time experience for us with Celebrity and part of a get together with some friends. We opted for this cruise more to do with convenience out and back from Sydney rather than the specific destinations (as we usually do). We had expectations for our cruise with Celebrity given their stellar reputation and the pretty outstanding reviews were borne out and justified. To date The Edge is the nicest vessel with have cruised on and we were thoroughly impressed and happy with the design, decor and presentation across the ship. Our captain, Captain Costas was very entertaining, informative and truly an ambassador for the Celebrity family. Cabin - We loved the infinity type cabin with the innovative balcony window, which just made for glorious views throughout the trip. The layout with the bed closest to the balcony was a big winner for us as opposed to having the sofa/lounge closer to the balcony. This set up gives you an enhanced feeling of space from the more traditional set up and we had no issues with it. The bathroom, whilst compact was very well designed and the layout very functional. Our enclosed glass shower is easily the best we have experienced having now done quite a few cruises. No cold shower curtain, water everywhere on the floor and terrific water pressure and instant heat - couldn't fault and would love the same at home. We were fortunate to have a wonderful and very stealthy cabin attendant Allen on floor 6, who operated like a ninja in keeping the room well attended. We really liked the layout and overall decor with special mention for the aptly named Eden area at the back of the ship - just spectacular and a great place to read/relax. There is quite a lot of up or on selling throughout the ship/cruise, the usual photos/art/jewellery and speciality restaurants etc. But we didn't find this aspect as pushy as on some other lines. The prices on Celebrity are for the most part above our experience with PC or HAL and with an additional 2% to the drinks gratuity tax so 20% - we found this a bit off putting. Service - was of a very high standard generally throughout the ship and I'd say on par with Princess and a tad under our recent HAL experience (who seem to be a little more on point and proactive) Dining - we have to acknowledge the dining experience on Celebrity was pretty good overall and improved a little as the cruise continued and we got more familiar with the lay of the land. We tried all 4 of the MDR during the cruise and Normandie and Cosmopolitan were the ones we preferred. We had a less enjoyable experience at Tuscan with some very average meals and left disappointed. Celebrities catering team did recognise this and did go out of their way to address the concerns. Special mention to a few of the excellent staff including, Reza and Jelena in Cyprus, Mini and her team in Normandie; - Reza, Mini, Jelena and Khola at breakfast in Cosmopolitan and one of the head matre'd's - Sanjev for his great assistance with booking some specialty dining. Specialty dining; - Raw On5 - which is mainly seafood/sashimi type of menu - nice oysters, mixed tuna plate and Fish & Chips for lunch - the F&C was pretty uninspiring, batter not crispy and not real hot and the better half felt a little unwell after the oysters/tuna. Didn't feel the experience was worth the extra premium. Fine Cut Steakhouse - and the overall experience was very good. Five out of 6 had great steaks or lobster dishes including huge Tomahawk. Unfortunately I lucked out with the Ribeye - tasted great but had too much grizzle/fat so a lot of waste for my taste. One of the groups ribeye was way better. Service was good but not great - we had a small wine bottle spill by one of the staff (just an unfortunate accident) but did lose about a glass of wine. It would have been nice if staff offered a complementary replacement glass. (not forth coming) Eden - this dining experience was very much elevated from MDR and other venues and for me the loveliest dining on any ship. The service from Peitro and crew was fantastic and the food matched, wonderful and tasty starters and mouth watering mains. With some very elegant additional touches and flair just added to a memorable experience. As a disclaimer Celebrity did offer up to 30% and later 50% off some of these venues as the cruise progressed and to which we happily took advantage. For the Eden I'd be tempted to pay full freight as it was that good, not so much the others. With the exception of Eden - the overall experience didn't quite match HAL but it's pretty close. Entertainment was along usual fare and pretty much as expected with really good headliner shows and performers - a couple a little less. It was noted the artists and main shows were all almost exactly the same as on this cruise in Jan 2025 and Celebrity should look at rotating some performers or at least varying the performance content. The around ship performers weren't up to either PC or HAL and a couple unfortunately not great. Embarkation/Disembarkation - Sydney - spot on and pretty flawless, well organised and sorted with minimal delay or wait times. (Boston could learn something here). Special mention and a really big thank you and pat on the back to Celebrity and their staff in providing a superior level of service and care to one of our less mobile members and to other guests who required additional assistance and support - they were absolutely fantastic. Did we enjoy the cruse - well we sure did - so much so we and some of our group stumped up the deposit for a future cruise (destinations unknown) and the others already have one cruise in the pipeline in Jan 2026 taking them up to 3 cruises in 18 months.

Dine on your time
On our Celebrity Edge® Series ships, we may have reinvented the main restaurant experience with four different venues, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining. With Celebrity Select Dining you can choose early seating at 6:00 P.M., late seating at 8:30 P.M., or dine whenever you want. You’ll be assigned one of the four main restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request and availability.

Kids and Teen Programs
The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.
Entertainment On Board
There’s no shortage of entertaining venues on board. Spend the day swimming in the pool with the kids, then watch the sunset while relaxing in one of our elevated hot tubs. Gather on board for movie night under the stars, silent disco parties, hot glass classes, and archery tournaments —so many activities to share. Family Friendly Excursions
