A new model of Cunard's Queen Mary 2 (QM2) has been completed at Hamburg's Internationales Maritimes Museum, it has been revealed.
Visitors to the new museum can expect to get a close-up look at the replica of the cruise liner, which comprises 480,000 plastic bricks, reports the Daily Echo.
Two fans of the coloured building blocks, Klaas Meijaard and Rene Hoffmeister, spent more than 1,200 hours creating the ship.
Alongside the QM2 itself, the exhibit also features a surround which includes support vehicles and pedestrians.
Measuring 20 feet in length, the Daily Echo adds that the vessel is believed to be the largest ship constructed out of Lego in the world.
Earthtimes previously reported that the Lego QM2 is one of the ways in which the new museum aims to appeal to children without using modern interactive displays.
The news resource noted that younger visitors also have access to a workshop which is not aimed at older tourists. |
